What Time- 2:00 pm- 4:00 pm

This two-hour introductory workshop explores the history and traditional art of flintknapping. You’ll learn basic flintknapping techniques, important safety practices, and receive hands-on instruction as you work toward creating your own glass arrowhead.

Come experience an ancient skill and discover the process of transforming raw material into a handcrafted arrowhead. If you enjoy the course and would like to continue developing your skills, our intermediate workshops will offer opportunities to work with obsidian and stone.

Please Note: Flintknapping produces small, sharp flakes and debris. Workshops may be held outdoors when appropriate. Children are allowed and welcome! Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

-What to Bring:
Bring your curiosity and excitement! We provide the tools and necessary safety equipment. Closed-toe shoes are required. You are welcome to bring gloves for additional protection; however, the artist teaches using a bare-hand technique. Cut-resistant gloves are available for children.
